The principle of causation is a fundamental concept that every event has a cause, which means a cause must precede and produce its effect. In physics, the principle of causation dictates the flow of time and limits the speed of information to the speed of light. In law, the principle of causation establishes the link between an action and a resulting harm. In philosophy, the principle of causation states that every change in nature has a cause for its existence.
The principle of causation is also referred to as the principle of cause and effect, which states for every event (effect), there must be a prior event or action (cause). If A happens, then B follows.
In the story of the first Easter, there is a fascinating cause and effect dynamic that comes into the storyline. If Jesus died (and everyone believed he did), then what happens next? What happens to the hope his followers had placed in him? What happens to the faith his followers had placed in him? What happens if Jesus did what dead people to – which is stay dead (and that’s what everyone expected)?
However, if the resurrection of Jesus is true, then what real-world implications might that event hold (as the most significant event in history, by the way)? If the resurrection of Jesus is true, then what would it take for you to believe?
